About Bordeaux
Bordeaux remains one of the oldest and most important commercial wine regions in France, second only in volume to the Languedoc. Vineyard area encompasses well over 306,000 acres, and although most famous for its red blends, sparkling, rosé, white and sweet wines are also produced in great abundance here. Things in Bordeaux run a bit differently than in other wine regions; and while viticulture is viticulture, no other region combines the majesty of the classified growths, the DIY pluck of the garagistes, and the indisputable value of the petits châteaux.
