About Southwest

Southwest France, or the Sud-Ouest, is composed of Aquataine, Charentes, Gascony and the wine zones at the base of the Pyrénées Mountains in Basque France. You have a range of wines here, from the satellite appellation underneath Bordeaux that utilize similar encépagements, such as Bergerac and Cahors,  to more obscure applications such as Fronton, Jurançon and Tursan that employ indigenous varieties grown nowhere else in France.  Cuisine is an ode to wild game, the richness of foie gras and a plethora of local Périgord truffles.
